Healthcare facility
When we took up this project, one of our most forefront aims was to create a warm and inviting environment. Hospitals, in general, are considered cold and sterile in nature. With an intention to break this monotonous setting, white and bright colors with warm light fixtures with a touch of pop
and dark elements have been incorporated in this project.
Talking about the plan, we devised it in such a way that there is a clear uninterrupted flow of traffic from the reception to each individual department.
Keeping in mind the aim to create a warm interior, a warm neutral palette has been maintained throughout the project with pops of green introduced through wooden fluted wall panels and fluted green tinted glass. Materials like Microcement have been strategically used to clearly define the
different zones and circulation passage inside the interior environment by using materials. Similarly, a mixture of warm white and neutral while colored lighting is employed. The warm white is maintained in the false ceiling led and other flushed surface while the neutral white is used in
spot lights and a number of task and accent lighting fixtures.
The Lobby opens up to the voluminous main reception accentuated with a onyx marble backdrop beset by green plants set in a curved vertical wall to bring in a sense of liveliness. This sense of liveliness is maintained by introducing a flowing pendant lighting fixture ahead of the large reception desk emphasized with metal accents and dark gray colored raw concrete finish. Adjacent to the Reception area is the waiting lobby which is integrated with single and double seating furniture with a clean streamlined and non solid form. To complement the spacious lobby and the natural lighting, entering the space via the 6 feet full wall window on one side, a flushed elliptical false ceiling has been used with a large scale circular pendant dotting the indentation.
As you move towards the inner area, there is a dark wooden false ceiling with batten running around in a loop around the central elliptical plan, which is also highlighted with parallel led lighting set into the false ceiling. The battens serve as a guiding element as it displays a perception of movement towards the inner zone.
Moving along the inner passages, the curved walls are peppered with large abstract artwork to make the walls look busy.As you are guided through the passage, the reception desks are strategically placed along the circulation for clear and easier identification of the different departments. All the individual reception is equipped with a reception desk emphasized with copper metal accents and light gray colored raw concrete finish. The reception desk is brought into attention by a linear light fixture above with circular elements maintaining the non rigid poise that is already exhibited by the elliptical layout and curved walls.
